Sometimes, you dream about something, but when it actually happens, you hope it will not turn into a nightmare.
This month is a BIG one for our hedge fund.
We finally got a ‘green light’ from our main institutional investor to assemble and start trading a new portfolio. It will be our latest CTA program, so far the biggest and most ambitious one. This will be a minimum 2 million investment portfolio (our first was just 100k, the second one 250k, the other one 350k, so this is really a HUGE jump forward for us) and will consist of approximately 45 strategies (all developed according to my Breakout Strategies Masterclass framework). It’s also going to be an essential new portfolio for our hedge fund this year, as we should receive between 40 – 100 million USD into it (if all goes well).
But here’s the tricky part:
We NEVER did this before.
I mean, of course, we have assembled and traded a bunch of portfolios before.
But not with 45 strategies.

So, understandably, we have a lot of legitimate questions, like:
Will TradeStation be able to handle that?
Will our proprietary real-time risk-management software be able to handle it?
Will any potential problems multiply with so many strategies being traded?
Will we need to hire an additional person to watch it?
And the truth is, that…
I DON’T KNOW.
Only time will tell.
But things like this CAN’T stop us.
Trading is and always has been about EVOLUTION.
We need to keep evolving, we need to keep up with the challenges.
We need to have the balls to go into the unknown again and again, see, learn, make improvements, and keep going.
This is how successful trading is done, both for a hedge fund and for retail traders.
So, cross fingers, we’re hoping for the best and getting ready for the worst, and mainly…
…keeping the ball rolling.
